June & July Updates

We finally got some nice weather!!

We have had a busy past few weeks trying to get all the PAL / RPAL courses wrapped up before summer break.  We are in the home stretch, one more to go on the regular schedule and a mid summer training course for Thom to get a step closer to being a certified PAL / RPAL course teacher.

To date, we have put over 250 student through either a PAL or RPAL course since we started offering them a little over a year ago.  It would appear the interest in the firearms sports and the community of firearms owners is growing rapidly.  Good news for all of us!!

We have been working toward reducing the range noise in the classroom. We are happy to report that we are going to now allow 22LR pistols and rifles to be shot while the PAL / RPAL courses are being taught.  We no longer have to completely close the range during courses.  Please be respectful if you show up at the range and there is a course going on.  The students may be new to firearms and are here to learn the proper way to handle firearms safely.  Also, please take your firearms directly out to the range when you arrive if there is a course going, this will ensure the students don't come into contact with any live firearms during their training.

Please remember, now that the summer is here, there are no staffed hours on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of a long weekend.  This gives our staff a chance to relax and spend time with their families.  The range is still open to members, as well as guest that they wish to bring.
